How much does a 20-yard container cost in Montreal?

Short answer
A 20-yard container costs $725 before tax, or $834 tax included. That covers delivery, 12 rental days, pickup and 2.5 tonnes of material — nothing else to pay if you stay inside those limits. Past them: $149 per extra tonne and $14 per extra day, billed only with a photo and a weigh ticket. In a private driveway, no permit. On the street, add your borough's permit.

What does it really cost if the container goes on the street?
This is the number nobody publishes. On the public right-of-way your borough requires an occupancy permit, and its cost varies by up to 2.4× depending where you are. For this size over 10 days: roughly $1264 all in for Anjou, against roughly $1859 in Outremont. Same container, same service — the gap is entirely the permit.
In a private driveway the question doesn't arise: no permit is required and the advertised price is the price paid.

Is the $834 price really all-in?
Yes, tax included, for delivery, 12 days, pickup and 2.5 tonnes. The only additions depend on your own usage — weight past the included tonnage, extra days — and they are always backed by proof before billing.
Does the price change with the material type?
The base price doesn't change, but the included tonnage is adjusted: heavy materials weigh far more per volume, so the container fills halfway and the tonnage is set accordingly.
Is there a contractor discount?
The base price is the same. A pro account adds -4 more included rental days, net-30 terms, monthly billing and the multi-site portal.
